Hey guys I'm new to this forum. I have a couple of questions I took a hit to the side today driving me into the wall. The car is a vintage modified on a Chevy metric chassis I believe. The front and rear are joined by square tubing. When hitting the wall the entire front clip was trashed. I'm looking for ideas on how to true up the new clip I am going to get to mount back to the square tubing. Is there someone who can lead me to some kind of link for a jig to build or how this can be done. I have a very capable garage with all tools which would be needed to fix everything but I have never made a frame much less have to fix a bent one. I have more time than money so buying a new frame really isn't an option. Any help would be greatly appreciated also if there are annual other questions I can answer them asap.
Welcome aboard brett39533:This is just what we did back in the day. Take any loose or broken bars off the will hinder any efforts to pull the frame. We would take the car to a friend that all his business was, pulling frames. Then you can really find out what was hurt. I wouldn't take it to someone that will destroy the nose. Basicly you have a Chevy chassis that's what we did. I hope it helps.Take it to someone that has state of the art equipment. Laser set-ups are really nice. ThanksBob
Looking at that clip, It sure looks like it needs the clip replaced.
