I have a hobby stock with disc front and drum on rear. Cannot run power booster because the camshaft doesn't make enough vacuum to make good stopping. Would it be better to get an electric vacuum pump or hydrolic to run off the power steering pump?

you neglected to tell us what car your running. Its a tuff decision to make. you'll need about 15" of vacuum. to maintain good braking. A hydro-boost system will be a constant source of power for braking and your P/S. You could run a vacuum resevoir canister. If you have the room for it. Moroso sells them check them out. A Hydro-boost may take some HP to run.....

I neglected to welcome you aboard:
Is the engine a v6 3.8, 305 or 350? Not that it matters much, but now we know. Is it a mid 80s MC?
Are you limited to what you can spend on brakes. Just some FYI. I had a 1986 Pontiac Safari St. Wagon. That was tired, it had done its job the old girl had 250,000 on her and was tired. It had big brakes on it I don't remember what size? The Hydro-Boost wasnt 9 months old.
My buddies Son was starting out like yourself. He also had a mid 80s MC. WE took the whole brake system from the Pontiac. Installed it on the MC and it worked perfectly. We had some problems ,but the usual unanticcepated crap. But once we got it working it was fantastic. Now remember this. It does add weight to th front end about 10lbs. But it was worth every oz. OK Mr. Bell and daughter with that said go kick some ass.
Just when you ask a question always add whatever you have a ? about as much info as you can.I.E. if it cylinder heads lets say? Tell us all you can,the more info you give the more info we can feed back to you! I say that as I may not be the person to answer your question or help you! Thanks Bob
