New Member and first post. Have a fuel pressure problem. I run a 3 link Wissota Super Stock. The problem started 3 weeks ago. Fuel pressure went down to 3lbs during the heat race. Engine sounded terrible and no power. Between heats I replaced the fuel pump. Feature comes around and still low fuel pressure but it seams to have power and later in the race the better it gets. Our class had a few weeks off so I went through the fuel system, tore the fuel tank apart and checked all fittings, replaced filter.
Raced tonight and the same thing happened. I litterally started on the front row and went to the back in a hurry. The car does not have the power to turn through the corners. The feature comes around and the engine runs ok and by the end of the feature it gained about 3/4 lb of pressure. Running about 6.5 lbs of pressure by the end. Any thing under 6lbs and the engine runs terrible.
My next step is too duck tape each fitting and check fuel pressure. Maybe looking for cracks in the fittings. I don't know what else to do. Does any one have any other ideas? The gauge is before the carb so I am thinking it is not related to the carb. I only loose pressure when the car is under load. Before this issue the car had around 11 lbs.
