I currently run in a hobby stock class that is permitted to run a 262, 283, 302, and 305. I am now running a 305 with the rochester 2bbl carb but i have a 262 block available to me. How, if its beneficial, could i build a 262 up to be a high rpm motor and make horsepower? Im running a 3/8 mile track. Is it possible to build a 262 stroker? Does anyone have any helpful information?

I am sure there is something out there. Check out the mass of the crankshaft compared to the 305s and 350s and so on. The shorter stroke should be somewhat lighter allowing quicker rise in rpms. I would look over the entire engine from oil pan to air filter. Being a SBC, it shouldn't be a difficult build.
Keep us posted!
