greghouser welcome to Ct forum. I'm assuming your talking about a carburated 4bbl small block version not fuel injected TBI or an early 1st generation big block version. It really depends on a couple of things, what year the Z/28 manifold is from? & is the manifold from a 302,305 or 350 Z/28 engine? they can be far differant & there are a couple differant styles the EGR equipt 4bbl manifolds are not verry good for performance type apps. In future posts give more info it will help to answer your quesstion better. Good luck. 3836bbl

sorry im racing in stock v8 and using gen1 small block with double hump heads. rules say cast iron intake and summit sells one that is cast iron version of z-28 which will accept holley bolt pattern. was going to get one because all that is around is old egr style. is there any version used i should look for that will accept holley without hurting performance

greghouser I'm not familure with those rules.I would say if you need to stay with in the cast iron catagory I would try maybee World Products, GM performance, or Jegs maybee, Summit is allways pretty good stuff. what RPM range are you looking for? what trans auto or manual? what gears? what camshaft? what exaust? remember it's the combo not just 1 component. Do you have to use a mechanical fuel pump? can you use a bypass fuel regulator? Can you run a cool can? Can you run a 1-2" 4 hole spacer on the manifold? or a heat shield isulator under carb to keep your fuel cool? can you use heat shields on you fuel lines? & exhaust to keep your air intake charge cool under hood? These things if able to do so will help make more HP/TQ every little bit helps. Good luck. 3836bbl/Budnicks

The Summit intake is a big improvement over the stock OEM manifold. Bud, are you the only one here that answers questions?
