Got spun out and hit wall. Ended up with hole in engine were motor mount was.  Can a plate be welded in its place.  

There are ways to fix a hole in a cast iron engine. I would not recommend welding cast iron because it will make the iron weaker in the repair area. You didn't say what engine you have. You have to detemine wether it is worth fixing.

There are ways to braze and/or solder cast iron. That is if the engine is cast iron.

Call around and find a place you can take it to. Like anything else cheap is not always the best way to go!
