I have a 1992 celica that I race on a 1/4 clay oval track. I just cant seem to get the car to handle. I am in the top 10 every week but just dont have the handling to get into the top 5 every week. I have experimented with tires sizes and as far as the circumfrence. We are suppose to run all the same size tire I run 185 60 14 and I do have 1 185 65 14 and 1 195 60 14. I have measured the circuference of each tire I have made notes on all the different tire pressures that I have used. I am lost as to what I can do to make it handle. The best I have gotten the car to handle was with this set up LF tire 185 60 14 30 psi measures 73 RF tire 185 60 14 36 psi measures 73
LR tire 185 60 14 32 psi measures 74 RR tire 185 60 14 36 psi measures 75
At this point I am looking to improve but dont know what direction to head so please any advise i would appreciate. TY Don doubled3@yahoo.com

You can start by removing at least 10 pounds in each tire!!! Next have you scaled the car to see where your weights are??? Are the stock springs still in the car???

All the stock springs are still in the car and have done no modifications on anything from the stock parts. I have not weighed it because I have no way of weighing it.

Well I took your advise and dropped the tire pressures and the car handled much better. I have a slight push coming out of the corner but it ran much better I finished 3rd this week and that is my highest finish ever so far. Thank you.

My next question is that worked well on a dry track. Now should I bring the air pressure back up on a soupy track?
