higher rpm's on a neon

I have a 98 dodge neon R/T i race on an 1/8th mile track im trying to find a tire size that will allow me to run 2nd gear i am runing 3rd rite now but the car is only turning 5000 rpms with 185/65/14 tires and need it to turn up hard.

Try going to 195 or 205, maybe even 215 tires...the taller tire in 2nd gear will get you the higher RPM.

If you can move up to a 15 inch tire then play with 195/60/15s if not try 65's but that will give you a taller gear and might put you about right
