Okay so I have a SBC 362.
3.5" Stroke, Callies Lightweight crank, H-Beam Rods. 12:1 SRP Pistons .060 over
Flat Tappet Cam and lifters (which are being switched to roller cam and lifters)
and two sets of heads.... Worlds Product Torquer Steel Heads and Dart Pro 1 aluminum heads.
World Products Steel heads consist of 2.02 valves and 170cc intake runners and 67cc combustion chambers- which produce 12.1:1 Compression on this engine
Dart Pro 1 Aluminum Heads consist of 2.15 valves and 230cc intake runners and 64cc combustion chambers- which produce 12.6:1 Compression on this engine.
So with all new roller cam and lifters what heads will produce the most power. Generally the Dart heads would with better flow characteristics, but its not a very big engine and with the World Product Heads this engine produces 500 horsepower with all the flat tappet cam and lifters so I should gain 10-15 hp with the roller stuff and if I could gain another 30-40hp with the Dart Pro 1 Aluminum Heads I would be pretty excited. But if I wouldn't gain any power with the Dart Heads I will leave the steal heads on because I get a 50lb. weight break in my Late Model.
I'm stumped..... Any input would be much appreciated.
