I ran my heat race last weekend. Started on the pole, after about 3-4 laps into a 6 lap heat, car is good and warm it starts to miss or backfire alot also after you get up to a higher running speed. Then just seems to lose all power, was all I could do to hang onto 3rd place in the heat.

Like I said only seems to start this after the car gets good and warm and up to a good running speed, it is not over heating.  The car did catch fire recently  a couple of weeks ago. And this is when this started to happen. Thought I traced all the wiring and made sure that nothing was burnt through.

We replaced ther fuel line, coil, redid the burnt wiring. All that is lef tthat I can think of is spark plugs, either clean out or replace the fuel injectors. Other than those changes I am at a loss.

  Thanks,

Try changing the coil.

already did that as I mentioned above, changed the plugs and cleaned the injectors last night. would it make a difference in reving it up in park vs running it at a higher rpm in say 2nd, after it is already warmed up ?
