i have a 88 bird i race on a paved half mile banked oval,it's nice to know there's Ford circle track guys out there in the street stock class,i am surrounded by chevys.in 2008 there were 30 cars that started the feature 29 chevys 1 Ford and i beat them,it was the best feeling in the world, knowing i beat the GM 602 crate motors with my homemade 302.

Hi what I've done if your track will let you, is take a  90's ltd or lincoln chassis and cut it to a 108 wheelbase chassis, and put the t-bird body on it.I have a friend that runs a dare stock at stafford speedway in ct. He runs a 302 engine with a restrictor per the rules, with a c-4 trans an runs very well against a full field of chevy's.The rules are online at staffordspeedway.com. if you want to take a look at them. You can better set up the front suspension and the rear is a 8.8 straight axle much like a GM metric chassis.Try to keep it simple like a GM. they are winning with a low expence.I'm a true blue oval racer but around here Its like fighting city hall.I'll try to get more info to help.

That's what I like to hear,Great job.Unfortunatly due to sponsor change and our lovely economy,I'm forced to run a chevy if I wanna keep racing and still keep my house.Stock for stock the ford engine makes great power and torque over the chevy crate.

Hello

What wheels do you all run?
I must run 15 X 7's. Thinking 4" offset?
89-97 chassis only.

Hello

Do you mean on a Crown Victoria (panther) frame?
LTD's covered several sized cars.

Look for a guy = 429CJSleeper
He put a 80's t-bird on a shortened Vic frame.
He is on several forums. "SBFTech & Thedirtforum" for sure.

I might look into placing my 96 t-bird on a Vic frame myself. I hope to shorten to 110" over the 113.4" I have now.

Hi,
I just started to check out my car and found the rear shock to be damaged not sure how but it no longer has a charge.  I ordered 4 new Pro-shocks and currently trying to put them in factory locations on my 1993 T-bird.  Has anyone done this how did you replace the front strut?  I plan on using some tubing and mounting the shock inside, but do not want to go through the learning curve if some one already did.

Hello

What shocks did you order?

The rears are easy, Full size Ford.

The front you could possibly use coil over shocks.

I have Koni Adj. inserts up front. But they are non-racing.

I have Pro TA-76 in the front and WB-74 in the rear.  I am not sure we want coil over on the front that is a lot of force to hold up with only the shock.  We are modifying our own spring holder and mounting the shock inside.  I can then use 5"OD standard springs.  That should remove some sprong weight from the front and will be more afordable

Hello

I would love to see a picture of your setup.
PM me for e-mail, if you don't want to post it.

I have 5" X 12's springs on the stock housings with a spacer to make up the ride height.

what is your PM I can not get pics to upload on this for somereason.  I have been working on the front spring/shock package and was able to replace my 13" springs with some 5"x9" and that took 13 lbs out of each side, as well as lowered the front by an inch each side.
