What would everyone think about a new street stock touring series on the east coast? My partner and I are looking into starting a touring series for street stocks to run in Virginia and North Carolina on short tracks. We only want to do it enough people would be interested in it... So everyone put in your two cents worth please!

Hello

The rules are biggest sticking point between tracks.
At least up here in western NY.

check out sstracingseries.com

I can't run my street stocks at any other local tracks
due to rule restrictions.

90's Thunderbird

According to there rules your legal to run, there are some differences but there not an advantage. If you want I can email you a copy of the rules. I did read though that they run the hoosier 980, is that a slick or treaded tire?

Hello

We run the 980's recaps. Not sure about the tour.
I don't run the tour class. I Don't have the metric chassis, 90's Thunderbird.

I race at Dunn Tire raceway park, Lancaster NY.
Street stock class.

The tour is A higher class at our track.

Hello

Yes, I would like to see your rules. Send me a link.

I believe if you find a Tour sponcer you will get better responce. Tracks around here are cutting back on
classes + weeks of racing due to the cost racing.

can you private message me with your email address?
were working on getting a sponsor for the series but if that doesnt work out, were in the middle of working out a deal with the UARA-Stars late model series to run with them as a support division. just to let you know that more then likely were only going to run about 6-7 races for the 2010 season. then in 2011 run every 2 weeks

I'm building a car to race in the Kimmel series. If you worked with their organization and used a common set of rules, many drivers that run with them would probably race with you. I believe it could be a win/win situation for all involved. Latest news has the Kimmel series running 6 events in 2010. If you scheduled your races to not conflict, there'd be a bunch of available cars to participate. Tbirdtess has a point that bugs me endlessly. I wish all of the tracks would find a path to a common set of rules for street stocks. All the different sets of rules don't help anyone. It pushes people into driving Legends cars instead.

LOL first I was gonna mention the Kimmel series! I was gonna run it this year and have in the past but I am selling that car at 8:30 tomorrow morning! But I have another car that fits that class! And if you was close with their rules as in no major changes. Simple changes like carb or tires then yes I would likely run your class too.  And yes Tess has a great point. I just sold my car because I can't run it anywhere else! Friday I am picking up my new UMP mod mostly because I can run it about anywhere.

Get close to Kimmel's rules and you will likely see me there!
