Do you have a fan shrowd if not get one fast.  Is you Rad blocked inside or out? do you have the right water pump Ie v belt vs serpintine impeller is backwards.  Next how much heat are you making.  To much timing makes heat. Set total ing timing to 37 BTC. Running to lean on the carb will make heat.  If you are using and new out of the box holley they are jetted lean from the factoy. check  you plugs and if they are still white after on race move up two jets sizes at atime until they are tan .  I know this is a little disjointed but its been a long day.  Good Luck
