Im currently running a 13x7 rim on my car with a 235/60/13 tire. We have no limit on rim width.

What im woundering is if it will benefit me to go with a 13x8 rim or even a 13x10 rim. Will going with a wider rim decrease sidewall flex? Will it benefit my tire's contact patch?

Is a 13x10 to wide to make it work with a 235/60/13 tire?

Help and Discussion is highly appreciated on this topic as I need to figure out what I will be doing for new rims

Thanks

You need to find the section width for your tires and try to match that with the wheel width. You could go just a little bigger but not much. Your goal is to get the biggest contact patch possible.

Sometimes a slightly narrower rim is beneficial as long as the tire will mount good.  With the tire sidewall stretching slightly (when bead is seated) that gives less flex as cornering loads are applied and a little, I mean little, quicker steering response. I wouldn't go wider unless you have to.
