I bought a chasis to a 79 Ford Pinto. I couldn't find any engines but learned that an 89 mustang motor would fit in it. While talking to a track officail I learned I had to remove the EFI and install a carb. The track approved carbs are Holly 7447 and Holly 4412. The engine is a 2.3L EFI.

Use the 350 cfm holley, and use the bottom of the EFI Manifold with the injector holes plugged. An Adaptor cam be purchased from Powerbyace.com . Mustang/pinto engines interchange from 79 up, earlier ones are carbureted. The mini stock tech section @ 4m.net is an excellent resource. Hope this helps.
