new to dirt track racing

i race at flomaton speedway in flomaton,al. it is a 1/4 mile track. i run a 86 olds cutlass in the bomber division. i need to change the springs and shacks and dont have a clue what to put under the car. everything in the car is stock and nothing has been changed. i have check on the springs but have no clue to what size i need. any help would be greatly appreciated

well it all depends on how the car feels and what your trying to do with it. the best thing is to ask the fellow racers at your track. or try and get ahold of a local motorsports parts dealer they will normaly help out becuase they want you to buy parts from them. hope this helps some

For starters, are you driving into the corners? Secondly you need to research front end geometry,how it works and then you will be on the right track.There are plenty of books in the library which is going to be the best source for info because what works for someone else might not work for your driving style but if you do not know where you are with the car by the numbers you are just shooting in the dark.Caster,camber,bump steer and so on!!!!!!!!!!
