I am building a street stock z/28, just got my cage kit from speedway motors, and the instructions are lacking some usefull pictures. Please leed me to the correct place that I could see some pics of the rear hoop, and door post connection points. Thanks.

I don't know about your cage in particular, i've always bent my own.  Until someone posts a answer specifically for this cage kit, i hope my answer is helpful.  i've done it two ways in cars like yours:

One way: use some 6x6x.125 steel scab plates, form them to the rocker panel behind and infront of the door opening on both sides, and weld the cage connection points to those, use solid subframe bushings and subframe connectors.

The second way, which is probably stronger but uses more legroom, is to angle the front down bar in, through the floor, and directly to the subframe.  For the main hoop, I angled the bar inward as well and connected it to the sub frame connector.

Thanks for the reply, the cage kit is from Speedway motors, and I did get solid bushings, and the subframe connectors are form Detroit Speed.

The instructions seem to lead both answers, they say that the cage should mount directly to the frame-rails, but they are too wide to do so. I don't have a bender to get it to fit that way, either. I don't want to screw this up so I need to do more homework. I would love to get some pictures for some ideas.

Thanks,
