went out last weekend with rear sway bar hooked up, and did that change the car! It is more like a standard car and the set up is close. we now have 3/4" rear stager and the LR spring is 350# and the RR is 300#. Car was a little tight all the way around the turn but was running better. started 13th finished 8th. we were down about 400rpms need to work on the motor a little more. only thing I need to work out is the front end is 50#'s too heavy and we need to drop the springs from 950 and 875 to more like 800 and 750

still using LF-#925 RF-#850 LR-#300 RR-#350. I still need to get a #800 for the RF and move the #850 to the LF. The track I race on is long turns and is called a 3/8 mile but that is measured on the inside unlike all other tracks taht are measured on the outside. Baerfieldspeeway in Fort Wayne IN. How do you do your toe in the rear end? I toe mine out 3/16" mostly on the LR as I see that wheel toes in the most when under compression off the corrners. I have been running 3/4" rear stager but with my last time out it seems like we need to remove even more of that. If you check out how the ministock toyota's they run anware from 0 to 1" of stager.

Hello
Yeah I need to go higher with my front springs
My front tires are almost bottoming on the inside of the fenders. At least at the RF.
I just fixed my RR. Lost the tire. Center ripped out. BIG spin! Had to replace 3 lug studs also, broke 2 bent 1
Have to fix the rear toe. seems to be pointed inward.

Hello
I have a push going into the corner. What do you think I should change? Should I: lower RF & raise RR springs? OR remove rear sway bar?
???

We have the following and we cannot turn even a little 1150 RF 1000 LF 300 RR 300 LR Rear sway bar (even taking it out doesn't help) Not much stagger if any and 1/8" toe out. We just raced our last of the year but we have another in NOV for some mad cash. Any help is greatly appreciated. The track is .538 D oval 12-15 degree banking.

Welcome
What car are you running?? Mine is a 1990 Thunderbird.
What do you mean you can't turn even alittle??
With springs that High is it pushing? That set-up might work OK in a Crown Vic chassis. Is your rear axle locked or welded? Oval track right?

what is the rear toe set at? it sounds like the RR wheel is toed in. check how much it toes in when you are under compression and how much when you are in rebound. My RR turns in about 1/16" under compression

Hey guys, I wanted to bump this thread back up since I'm in the process of finalizing my set-up for a 1/4 mile, D-Shaped oval DIRT. I'm running an '80 T-Bird with a '70/'71 351W. 10" Hoosier F45's on 8" wheels. Stock rear sway bar. Rear-end locked (welded). I'm going to need spring info...
I'm looking forward to learning a lot from you other Ford teams (there arn't many down here...).
Vic

Hello
I just ordered some delrin rear control arm & rear knuckle bushings. I think they will help alot.
With them New tires we run, They put more stress due to the greater grip.
Hey Vic.
Your car is very different than mine. Didn't I also see you on The dirt forum?
I have a 75 351W with GT40p's. We are only aloud 8.5 compression + open rear.

what is the company you ordered your delrin kit from? I can not find any for my 1993 T-bird. is your rear end 8.8 or 7.5 like mine?

Hello
These are custom made. On the tccoa web site: DLF, is his name. They are NOT cheep!
Can't wait until I install them. I purchased both lower rear control arm & rear knuckle bushings.
Mine are going into T-bird lower arms. He also makes them for the Mark 8's lowers. I didn't think the Mark lowers will hold up to circle track racing. I an also upgrading to rear disc's & Mustang hubs.
I have both 7.5 & 8.8 rear pumpkins. All are open(rule) 3.73 & 4.10's in 7.5 3.90's in an 8.8 They interchange, No problems. I swapped between the 3.90's & 4.10's and back again in 3 weeks. our rule is 3.90 max.

thanks for the info. I was getting ready to make a print to have a local shop make mine, it is great having a tool shop as a sponsor!
Thanks for the info I was looking into an 8.8 but so far the little 7.5 has worked for about 3 seasons and done a great job. I run a 3.73 and am turning about 6500rpm going into the corner.
Do you run any camber in your rear wheels? if so how much on each one
