Edel Wins Second, VanGenderen Finishes Second in Project Crate Engine Stock Car

Ankeny, Iowa (June 6, 2008) – Bryan Edel took home his second USRA B-Mod Feature of the season last Wednesday night.  Edel is one of a couple of B-Mod drivers, competing weekly at the Southern Iowa Speedway, located in Oskaloosa, Iowa, who are utilizing A GM Performance Parts 602 Crate Engine purchased from Karl Chevrolet.  Bryan’s commented, “when it’s your night, it is your night and tonight we had them all covered”.  For his winning efforts, Edel will receive his second $100 “Award Certificate” from USRA B-Mod Title Sponsor, Karl Chevrolet.

Also on Wednesday night, Mike VanGenderen piloted the #57V Project Crate Engine Stock Car to an impressive second place finish in the USRA Stock Car division at the Southern Iowa Speedway.  VanGenderen who started 4th in his heat race went on to win his heat and would redraw for an eight place starting position for the Stock Car “A” feature.  From outside the fourth row, VanGenderen would move quickly to the front only be sent back to eighth as several yellows would re-line the field for the start.  By lap eleven, the 57V was out front until a perfect slide job by Nathan Woods would force VanGenderen to check up.  A. J. Johnson would sneak by right behind Woods relegating Van Genderen to third.  In the end, Woods would loose an engine and at green, white, checker finish, VanGenderen would push Johnson across the finish line.  After a sixth place finish in week one, a fifth place finish in week two, a second place finish in the third week out with the GM Performance Parts 604 Crate Engine, project Crate Engine Stock Car is turning some heads and raising some eyes.

Karl Chevrolet, Title Sponsor of the USRA B-Mods and USRA Stock Cars, is one of the leading suppliers in the country for the GM Performance Parts and GM Performance Parts Crate Engines used by sanctioning bodies, racing organizations and independent race tracks across the country.
