Sather Races to SportMod Victory at Boone

Ankeny, Iowa (June 8, 2008) – Once again, Sather put his #3, Victory Chassis / Karl Chevrolet GM Performance Parts 602 Crate Engine powered IMCA SportMod, back in Victory Lane during the Saturday night IMCA Northern SpotMod feature event at the Boone (Iowa) Speedway.  Twenty-two Karl Chevrolet sponsored IMCA Northern SportMods were on hand for the weekly event which features IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars, Northern SportMods, Hobby Stocks and Dwarf Cars.  For Sather, the feature win represents his seventh win of the season and solidifies his lead in the national point standings for the Karl Chevrolet sponsored IMCA Northern SportMod division.  Following Sather across the finish line was Brian Miller, Austin Kaplan, Matt Meinecke and Brett Meyer who rounded out the top five.  For his win, Sather will receive his seventh $100 “Award Certificate” from IMCA Northern SportMod Title Sponsor, Karl Chevrolet.

The durable, economical and low maintenance GM Performance Parts 602 Crate Engine is proving its worth.  Along with Sather who leads the Northern SportMod national points, second place Austin Kaplan and third place Luke Wanninger are all competing in cars powered by the factory sealed crate engine, designed to put circle track racers at the front of the pack, without breaking the bank.

In addition to their IMCA Northern SportMod Title Sponsorship, Karl Chevrolet also awards any IMCA SportMod competitor who wins a feature event using a GM Performance Parts 602 Crate Engine purchased through Karl Chevrolet, with a contingency “Award Certificate” valued at $100.  Sunday marks the second award certificate earned by Sather, both of them coming during the same weekend of competition.
