Luke Wanninger Sets SportMod Pace with Feature Win at Marshalltown

Ankeny, Iowa (June 7, 2008) – Luke Wanninger is on a role in the IMCA, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod division.  Wanninger drove his Team Harris / GM Performance Parts 602 Crate Engine powered IMCA Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod to victory, at the Marshalltown (Iowa) Speedway last Friday night.  Twenty-Four SportMods were on hand qualifying through four heats and a “B” feature, for the 24 car “A” feature event.  Wanninger, who also won his heat race, will receive a $100 “Award Certificate” from IMCA Northern SportMod Title Sponsor, Karl Chevrolet, for his winning efforts.

Wanninger, the IMCA Hobby Stock National Champion in 2007, recently picked up his new GM Performance Parts 602 Crate Engine, has eight SportMod feature event wins in 2008 and finds himself, firmly planted, in third place in the Karl Chevrolet sponsored IMCA SportMod national point standings.  

In addition to their IMCA SportMod Title Sponsorship, Karl Chevrolet also awards any IMCA SportMod competitor who wins a feature event using a GM Performance Parts 602 Crate Engine purchased through Karl Chevrolet, with a contingency “Award Certificate” valued at $100.
