Team Mates Kaplan and Sather Take Checkers Again Over the Weekend
Ankeny, Iowa (June 2, 2008) – Friday night, May 30th, Austin Kaplan bested the IMCA, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod drivers for the third time in 2008. With Mother Nature beating out several of the scheduled events at the Iowa State Fair Speedway, Kaplan now has three feature wins out of the five events contested at the fairgrounds speedway. For his winning efforts, Kaplan will, for the third time, receive a $100 “Award Certificate” from IMCA Northern SportMod Title Sponsor, Karl Chevrolet.
On Sunday Night, June 1st, Kaplan’s cousin and K & S Motorsports team mate, Kevin Sather, lead the SportMod field to the checkered flag at the Stuart, Iowa Speedway. With this win, Sather chalks up his sixth IMCA, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature victory for 2008. Sather’s victories have come from Friday night wins at Marshalltown, Iowa Speedway and Sunday night wins at the speedway in Stuart, Iowa. For his efforts, Sather will receive his sixth $100 “Award Certificate” from IMCA Northern SportMod Title Sponsor, Karl Chevrolet.
Both Kaplan and Sather are competing with Karl Chevrolet / GM Performance Parts 602 Crate Engine power in their Victory Chassis by JR Motorsports, SportMods.
Along with their IMCA SportMod Title Sponsorship, Karl Chevrolet also awards any IMCA SportMod competitor who wins a feature event using a GM Performance Parts 602 Crate Engine purchased through Karl Chevrolet, with a contingency “Award Certificate” valued at $100.
