I will be running a Hobby Stock on a 1/2 mile asphalt track. I will be running a GM 602 350cid crate motor (350 HP @ 5000 RPM's/390 torque @ 3800 RPM's). I have a 3 speed Saginaw connected to a ford 9 inch with 5.67 gears. I have ran the car before with a built 350 and turned 6000 RPM's in 3rd gear. I need to bring the RPM's closer to 5000 RPM's, any guesses as to what gear ratio I should change to? Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

We run the same combination on a 1/2 mile banked asphalt track with 85" tires and a 4.86 gear. We hit about 5800 at the end of the straight. The 602 can handle about 6200-6300 RPMS without a problem.
