Carl Moyer Becomes the Third Different DTRA Feature Winner of 2008
Ankeny, Iowa (May 16, 2008) – Carl Moyer parked his #3, GM Performance Parts 604 Crate Engine powered, DTRA truck in victory lane this Friday night at the Iowa State Fair Speedway. Moyer, a past DTRA Champion, started the night with a win in his 8 lap heat race, and started the 15 lap A Feature from outside the third row. Moyer smoothly moved through the field, taking the lead on lap four. Several cautions would bunch the field up, but no one had anything for the #3 truck on this night. Rick Clark in the #7X truck finished a respectable second, followed by the #98 of Bret Moyer. The #2T of Tony Moro and Ed Nelson in the #03 rounded out the top five.
“This is a special night. It is our first win of the season, and the #3 team’s first win with the Crate Engine”, stated Moyer. “Our crew did an excellent job preparing the truck for the feature, and the icing on the cake was Bill Martens, Special Programs Manager for GM Performance Parts, was on hand to help us celebrate our victory.”
Moyer is one of four DTRA trucks currently competing with the GM Performance Parts 604 Crate Engine, and for his efforts, he will receive a $100 “Award Certificate” from DTRA Title Sponsor, Karl Chevrolet. Other DTRA drivers who currently compete with the Crate Engine, and qualify for the contingency awards, are Bret Moyer - #98, Tony Moro - #2T, Matt Moro - #2M, and word is that the #95 truck driven by Lou Sipolt will be powered by a 604 Crate Engine beginning next week.
In addition to their DTRA contingency and Title Sponsorship, Karl Chevrolet currently offers all competitors who win a feature event using a GM Performance Parts 602 or 604 Crate Engine, purchased through Karl Chevrolet, the $100 contingency “Award Certificate”.
