My son is building a stock 4 mustang. He needs a 7.5 rear end with a 3.27 gear.He wants to hunt the junk yards for it,just one problem. It's getting harder and harder to find 1976 to 1986 mustangs to strip! What other models of Ford cars, trucks or vans have the rear end he needs. Thanks choochoo(Carol Connelly)

The following Ford Manufacterd cars have 7.5-inch ring gear rear end equipped with 9-inch drum brakes:
1979-1987 mustangs 1979-1986 capri 1980-1982 cougar 1979-1983 fairmont 1983-1985 Ford (106-inch wb) 1981-1982 granada 1983-1986 mercury (106 inch wb) 1980-1982 thunderbird 1978-1983 zephyr
NOTE: some of the above models and model years were also equipped with a 7.5-inch rear end with 10-inch drum brakes. Measure the diameter of the brake drums for a positive identification. ******All of the above rear end housings are equipped with one of the following ratios:
2.26 2.47 2.73 3.08 3.45 **try a 93 mustang lx with a 2.3liter (most common)

The Newer fox body with the 2.3 liter is your best bet just make sure it has not been bent...toe in or out by someone hitting a curb(very common! It will make squaring your rear end a complete nite mare. I hope i helped your quest for your rear end out a little *** DirtySouthRacer
