Timbo Mangum and the MDM Motorsports team took out the frustration of bad runs at the FASTRAK Grand Nationals on the last three crate specials for the team. They traveled to Windy Hill Speedway in Travelers Rest, SC on November 3rd for the SC State Grass Roots Championships. After qualifying 5th in his TNT Chassis T1 numbered late model, Timbo headed to the front on lap one. After disposing of Ron Parker and Chris Ferguson on lap one, Mangum would race with Donald Bradsher for three laps before moving into second. Timbo would then set chase to David Smith who was leading until lap 32 when David went pit side with a flat tire. Mangum would go on to lead the final 8 laps and took home the $2000.00 first place prize with Ron Parker second, Lee Cooper third, Donald Bradsher fourth and Chris Ferguson rounding out the top five. On November 17th, the team headed to Antioch Speedway in Morganton, NC for the annual Thanksgiving Thunder race where they qualified on the pole at a time of 20.28 breaking the crate track record of 20.83. After a major pile up on the first start, that most cars received some type of damage, the field was reset but Mangum would get a good start and go on to lead all 40 laps and win the $2,000 first place money. Dennis "Rambo" Franklin would go take second, Royce Bray finishing third with Ron Parker fourth and Will Shuffler finishing fifth. Timbo and team would make the 4 hr trip to Toccoa, GA on Friday, November 23rd where he sat on the pole in his first time racing at Toccoa Speedway. Mangum would lead the first 3 laps before rain moved the legends tribute race to Sunday, December 2nd. The team would return to Toccoa the following weekend and finished what they started as Mangum lead the remaining 37 laps to bring home the $3000.00 first place prize with David "Bad Boy" McCoy finishing second and George Reese Jr placing third. The 2007 TimboNation Tour traveled to 13 race tracks in six states winning 21 crate races at seven different race tracks. Timbo also won 13 super stock races giving the 33 year old driver 34 wins for the season. The MDM Motorsports Team would like to thank the many fans that supported Timbo during the season and also thanks to the staff and officials of all the race tracks we visited. When asked about plans for 2008 Timbo said, "We plan to travel more next year. We won't really have a home track. You just can't make ends meet running for $600.00 weekly. We plan to go to more big shows. It cost a lot to travel, I know we can't go to every big race but we will be at the ones we can afford to go to. I want to thank my team for all the hard work they did in 2007: Donavon Moree, Steve Eubanks, Billy Geiger, Adam Knight, David Motes and Jeff & Josh Langley. I also want to thank the partners of MDM Motorsports, without them we could not do what we do, Baker Electric, Perry Laney Septic Tanks, K-MansParts.com, Knights Lawn Care, Montgomery Towing, Langley Collision Center, Chris Knight and Bill Connor at City Chevrolet performance parts, TNT race cars, P & J Sales, Insane Racing Graphics , Richardson Racing Seats and Speedway Photo Service."
