As I look for a Mini stcok that meets Florida Mini Stock Challenge Rules.
I find prices fron $2,000-$10,000 for a turn key car.
I want a top 3 car, do I really need to spend $10,000 to run up front???
Thanks

That all depends. An excellent driver with a well handling car can beat a non driver with a $10,000 car that pushes like a dumptruck!
You need to assess your own capabilities as a driver, set up and mechanical skills etc.
A good firesuit with u/w/gloves/SFI 5 rating/helmet with Hans, and a containment seat with new belts plus a fuel cell will cost you $2500 without the car.
Speed, reliability and safety cost money, how fast do you want to go?

I am with crcltrakr....Spend the money on safety equipment. Get the best stuff, a car can be replaced, you can't.
As for a car, you can spend $10,000 for something someone tells you is great, and if you don't know how to drive it or set it up, you will just run around last on the track. I know guys who run Tour Type Modifieds, a few have a 10 + year old chassis, they still run consistently in the top 5. There are other guys who can barely finish a race, that buy new cars every year.
If you are looking for affordable quality parts checkout the website: www.gozbay.com there is a lot of racing stuff new and used out there.
