Hi everybody.
This thought has crossed my mind.  what is the fuel and oil doing during cornering and on hi banking.

Has anybody ever videotaped a clear float bowl with float mounted to the dashboard at the same level as the carb to see what the liquid  angles are and how long they last at race speeds?

My thoughts are the outside booster venturis might be flowing over do to the cenrtifical force at speed and running lean during cautions and pace laps.  i know that for drag racing they use jet extentions on the secondarys to avoid them going dry. I have experianced flooding do to extreme  decelleration.  has anybody tryed an offset Y or an F shaped tube extention so the jets get the same fuel level or at least a closer to the same fuel level during turns.

I am also thinking about dynos that can tilt to the side to simulate centricfical/banking forces on the fluid levels.  perhaps an air ride bag in a base to install the dyno on. with limiting screws or chains. (be inventive) this way oiling systems could be checked...(tilt to the right to simulate left hand turns at speed.

acceleration off the corners could also be simulated on a dyno.

maybe a gimble.  like what holds your sodas level on your boat...

That way only 2 hydraulic cylinders would be needed to simulate any direction.  left turn , right turn, (yea bad word) acceleration and deacceleration.

maybe a change to a single main jet  in each metering block with individual jets in the booster venturi retaining screws.

How about this.  putting the Y shapped tube over the main jets with the bottom of the single branch in the middle of the float bowl open.  this should make sure that the jets are never uncovered and get an even level of fuel above them.  

i am visulizing the drag race video where a top fuel team borrowed a race cam from diamond p and installed it behind the pilot looking at a temporaly installed section of clear hose at the fuel pump.. the cavatation was evident and a redesigned fuel tank cured the problem.   the back of the new tank looks like a funnel with the outlet as the end.

I know that I am going back and forth  but i am thinking while i am writing.  rocking back and forth...like everybodys float levels.


what is happening inside the oil pan???? lets get the fuel levels fixed first.. gimbled dynos here we come
